Followed this recipe to a 'T,' which I believe is necessary to charge per unit information technology properly. Absolutely perfect 'as is,' no changes to the ingredients. Simply a suggestion for prep -- there's no need to marinate in ii steps, merely combine everything in one glass basin (plastic absorbs smell) or Ziploc pocketbook overnight. If you don't have a dehydrator, you can use skewers and hang them from 1 end in the oven at 150F for 4-5 hours. I also boil the leftover marinade for at least 10 min to rid of bacteria or until desired consistency and use information technology for BBQ sauce on beef, craven or pork. Why waste it? Everyone loves this jerky, so it's the only i I make. Neat recipe! :)

My husband used venison instead of beef. It turned out slap-up, although I didn't read the instructions thoroughly and mixed together all the ingredients listed. I didn't melt the marinade in a saucepan either. I just put everything in a big ziploc and permit the meat soak overnight. My family and his family all thought it'southward the best jerky recipe we've found.

Excellent stuff! I improvised slightly: start, I got home and realized I had no brown carbohydrate. I did, all the same, have Sweet & Depression Chocolate-brown (brownish sugar substitute). I used the recommended conversion corporeality for the sweetness & low. I besides used low sodium soy sauce - just ran a niggling brusk on the amount. I use Wright'southward liquid smoke - and information technology's really Actually potent, and then I but used about half the corporeality. I substituted Penzey'south Spices Black & Red Spice (blackness pepper & spicy cayenne blend) for some of the pepper likewise. Results? Amazing! The false brown sugar worked really well, the smokey season is definitely there, and the Black & Red Spice gives it an added kick. Can't forget the pepper flakes! Definitely will make this again, and tin't expect to share this with my friends!

Parents accept an organic subcontract and nosotros got a one-half a moo-cow for Christmas... in that location'south no mode betwixt the 2 of united states we tin can eat that much meat, so I recently purchased a dehydrator and this is the first recipe I tried. I feel no need to search for boosted recipes. This is perfect! Purchased bricklayer jars and will make custom lables filled with this hasty to give equally gifts... if there is any left :) Thanks!

If you don't take a food dehydrator, this can exist made in the oven likewise. Just lay the meat on cooling racks on top of foil-lined baking sheets and broil on 150 degrees for 5-6 hours. Open the door every now and and then to allow steam escape. So easy!
04/01/2006
The jerky was perfect! I tried the marinade with turkey legs and chicken thighs and YUM! The meat melts off the bones! I'm making it once again today and I'm going to make full my smoker with craven, turkey, and brusque ribs. Delicious!
07/15/2005
This was and then yummy. I've fabricated it twice in the past month. I tried to follow the verbal recipe merely had a problem with the onion powder in my cupboard. I ended up using minced onion, information technology was succulent. Oh aye, only used 4 tbls liquid smoke too. I program to make it a lot. Thanks Dixychik!

This tin easily be the best jerky that you have ever tasted. Necessary changes: marinate at to the lowest degree 24 hours in the refrigerator, and use too much marinade (too little will leave too fiddling flavor). A few options to endeavour: cut the meat cross-grain (this allows for tenderness and season soaking), utilise reduced sodium soy, gourmet teriyaki (make sure it contains some type of wine), use whatsoever lean cutting of meat (typically some kind of round/top round), and finally the pepper flakes and spices should glaze the meat before marinating.
07/02/2006
customized this to 12 servings and had a quart of marinaide besides much. overall tasted good simply could not tell if pineapple juice was there or non.
05/03/2006
This recipe has a wonderful taste! WOW! It makes my oral fissure water even before I start to chew. The honey gives it merely enough sweatness to balance the hot. Information technology is our new favorite jerky recipe! Wonderful!
07/30/2006
Excellent!! Cut back on the liqid fume and no pepper flakes. Sweet and sassy.
11/13/2006
Astonishing Jerky!! I fabricated it just how the recipe said to and it was perfection.

This is a fantastic jerky recipe. I did add a few more ingredients to spice it up a bit after the first batch turned out a little as well balmy for my taste. Starting time off, I added ruby pepper flakes to the spice rub as well as to the marinade. I as well let the marinade simmer for a couple minutes just to give the peppers a chance to steep. I also added almost a tablespoon of Thai chili garlic paste. And but for skilful measure I tossed in a few dashes of Tabasco. The result was a more flavorful, spicier jerky. Not flaming hot, simply a little more than bite than the original. This recipe is a FANTASTIC sweet and tangy base for jerky. I would besides recommend first your drying process in the oven at around 300 degrees until the steam evaporates, then transfer to the drying racks. Getting the meat up to 160 degrees or then kills bacteria and speeds the drying. Then you move information technology to your dehydrator for some other iii-4 hours (depending on how thick your slices are). I highly recommend this recipe. Nice work DIXYCHIK.

I have made hasty for 20 years. This recipe is pretty good. After reading the comments; I decided to make some modest tweaks. First; I doubled the pineapple juice and simmered it to concentrate the sweetness. So, I added a ¼ cup of orange juice along with the other ingredients ( I use a smoker then, I omitted the liquid fume). I doubled the dry ingredients / coated the meat and let it marinade for four hours. And then I added the liquid marinade and let it prepare over night. I don't pound the meat before smoking; I like the big chew. "This footstep is essential" before smoking / dehydrating; take meat and out of the marinade and identify it on a towel. Place some other towel on top to absorb the wet. Then, put the meat on a rack (uncovered) for an hour or until the color turns grey. This helps the curing process and stops the marinade / seasoning from exiting the meat when smoking dehydrating. I hope you lot observe this hint helpful!
06/19/2012
This was not good! I'chiliad not sure how it got such loftier reviews. I followed the recipe exactly. The cease event was slightly sticky jerky with a caramelized coating. It was more of "spicy beef processed" than a traditional jerky. Too, this make a LOT of marinade...yous could apply a lot more than the recommended 1lb of meat for the amount of marinade the recipe yielded.
06/29/2010
Excellent Recipe. Makes really infrequent hasty. Though after using the recipe a dozen times or so I discovered that you lot don't need to spread the dry ingredients on the meat directly. Instead I put all the spices into a coffee grinder, footing them into a fine powder, then simply mixed them into the marinade. I should notation that I marinade considerably longer than the recipe recommends, at least a full day, and I apply a Foodsaver Vacuum seal jar.
eleven/15/2010
great taste, we doubled the recipe and used it on 6 lbs of goose breasts, it would taste every bit as good on deer. Succulent. I omitted the liquid smoke and placed in the smoker with hickory pucks. 4 hrs at 160 degrees worked smashing.
03/28/2008
Thanks for the recipe - nosotros all loved it. Practiced flavorful meat - non just seasonings!!! I used a four.5 lb bottom round roast, which trimmed down to near iv lbs. Once information technology was semi-frozen, I sliced it with an electric knife WITH the grain, not beyond (if you want information technology chewy not dissolve-in-your-oral fissure). I doubled the sauce recipe, only fifty-fifty that was WAY likewise much - next fourth dimension I'll utilize the extra half as steak marinade. I basis the peppercorns and crushed red pepper in my coffee manufacturing plant. I put tin foil in the bottom of the oven and sprayed Pam on cake cooling racks so the marinade would be easy to clean upwards. It made 3 racks full. I cooked in my oven at 150 degrees for four hours. Worked well, but good luck leaving information technology solitary long plenty for it to dry!
09/21/2009
I've been doing Jerky for 20 years. I've tried hundreds of recipies. This is the bomb. ***USE ABOUT 1/2 THE LIQUID Smoke*** I've given abroad about 3 lbs. to friends. Now they are asking when I'll doing more!
02/06/2008
This is the commencement jerky recipe I've ever tried and I wasn't disappointed with the results. Perfect residue of sweet (only not as well sweetness) and hot (merely not too hot). Leaves behind a little bit of oestrus on your tounge but not plenty to demand that huge glass of water standing past. It'southward the best tasting jerky I've ever had. WAY ameliorate than the store bought variety. I followed the recipe exactly as written. v tbsp of liquid smoke scared me but you can't fifty-fifty taste the liquid smoke in the finished product. It simply adds that great jerky scent that gets your taste buds going. An electrical knife is a must take. I bought one for the purpose of making this recipe and I can't imagine having to slice the meat without 1. I 5oz. bottle of soy sauce = 2/3c. No need to measure, just dump the bottle into the sauce pan. I used i 20oz can of crushed pineapple and strained it to get the pineapple juice. That yielded approximately one cup of juice so now I have enough pineapple juice to make some other batch of jerky OR perhaps I'll use the leftover juice and pineapple to make Acini di Pepe (another great recipe from this site). Talk to your butcher about the different types of meats that are popular for making jerky. You're non express to 1 specific cutting (some are leaner than others). Your butcher knows what'southward best. All in all, Groovy recipe I volition be using A LOT. I may never have to put my dehydrator away once again!! Thanks!!
08/27/2005
Yum! Perfect just the way it is.
06/09/2009
I totally agree with True cat. I followed this recipe equally is & it came out great. I tried three others on this site for a comparison & this is the all-time. I found at my grocery they slice beef for braising & it is perfect for this recipe, if you tin can observe it, endeavor it. Spearing the meat with a toothpick & hanging it from the top rack is a perfect mode to dry the meat, only brand certain you place some tinfoil on the bottom rack to catch the liquid. Delicious!
09/09/2010
I brand my husband beef jerky every time he goes to the field, and this is past far his favorite. I brand equally written and it is delicious....
01/01/2010
Okay this was a big hit. I bought a dehydrator only for this recipe. I concluded up making 4lbs the offset day which doesn't terminate upwards being much. I made some extra spicy with heavy red pepper to send to my brother. I doubled the marinade since I planned on doubling the meat only it was soooo not necessary. I had so much marinade that I am on my eighth lb of beef! Information technology was such a hit and I had all of the marinade already I figured why the heck not! Great gifts. I accept some marinating right at present and instead of using red pepper flakes I think I am going to utilize dried Jalapeno flakes that I have. I besides made a plain batch with no spice.. This recipe is defintely a keeper! I don't think it is sweet at all. Perchance next time I would cut back a chip on the liquid fume.
01/27/2010
Really good. Perfect blending of savory, sweet and spicy! PLENTY of marinade too, it coated everything and i had a picayune more than than a pound of meat. Thanks for sharing!
ten/26/2009
I've been making jerky amongst other dehydrated foods for years now. Subsequently a lilliputian searching I found this i a few years dorsum. I love sweet and hot jerky, and with a trivial tweeking I was able to improve upon it for my gustatory modality anyway. I added a little more brown sugar, used crushed pineapple on top of pineapple/ orangish juice and cooked it down to a little thicker consistency. All in all a terrific recipe and just the kind I was looking for. This fourth dimension I used venison and it was the best batch to date. I would recommend this to anyone who likes sweet/ teriyaki jerky... the pineapple actually does set it off!!! Thanks for a really superb recipe!!!
03/31/2006
My boyfriend loves information technology! It takes a lilliputian time, but well worth the expect!
06/26/2011
Perfect. Merely adjacent time I will cut my meat thicker. My thicker pieces were a bit more than tender than the sparse pieces. I also marinaded my meat for 24 hours before drying and it took almost 16 hrs to dry. My dryer doesnt have those fancy blower elements in it, so it takes longer for my nutrient to dry out.
03/26/2010
Love, beloved, honey this recipe! I did brand a few changes. I use Round Roast instead of steak and coat the cut meat with common salt, pepper, onion pulverization and garlic powder by eye. I don't cook the other ingredients in a sauce pan, I merely add them together and toss the meat in. Too, I add some hot sauce to the mixture, most a teaspoon (way more for my boyfriend though. Maybe two tablespoons), but the longer you let it sit the hotter it gets! I too let it soak overnight in the refrigerator, at least six hours, merely I prefer 12. :) I don't sprinkle any more than seasoning on mine, but my boyfriend adds cracked scarlet and black pepper, as well equally cajun seasoning to his before drying.
12/03/2009
LOVED, LOVED, LOVED information technology!!! Followed the recipe exactly, but changed the cooking method. Nosotros are using elk and have made six batches so far. I take the sliced up elk and boil information technology for about three minutes. I and then drain it and put it into the marinade immediately and marinate it for 3 hours. And then dehydrate it. Information technology merely takes 2 hours to dry this way. EVERYONE in my family unit loves it. Thank you for sharing!
01/29/2012
This is the best jerky that i have e'er made or purchased anywhere! Very flavorful with just a small seize with teeth of heat at the end. I brand a large batch every couple months and it never seems to last effectually the firm for more than than a couple days. My extended family and co-workers are always bugging me to make more. Definitely give it a try. You won't be disappointed!
12/xxx/2010
I fabricated this as a gift and the recipient liked it, simply I was not equally impressed. I call up I wanted it sweeter and spicier and less salty and garlicy. It was edible, but not my favorite.
xi/23/2010
This was the first time I fabricated hasty and I idea information technology turned out well! Swell flavor!!
12/13/2010
Ok, I beloved jerky, and accept made this twice at present, non a fan at all. I usually make it sweetness so I thought the hot might go far popular a petty, nope. Past all the reviews, it is prob just me, just had to write a review. Sorry to those who like it.
10/15/2008
I put a little cayenne pepper, and a large scoop of chili garlic sauce which made information technology spicy and real juicy!! information technology is smoky just if you store in a big bag for a day or two the flavor will simply amaze you :) I put in the oven on 170 degrees and used molar picks to concord upward the meat on the rack for iv-5 hours and was very juicy. I as well used London Bake and had Ralphs my grocery store slice upward the run across existent thin and I got well-nigh 3Ibs. I noticed when I inverse the servings it was style to much and could of made some other 5-6Ibs more than if I wanted with what I had. word of communication, stay with the recommended amount with 4 servings if you are going to brand more.
07/04/2007
Past far the all-time jerky I take ever had!!! I doubled the recipe and it all disappeared within a couple of days, everyone loved this addicting flavour! The affair I like virtually it most is that it'southward similar all hasty flavors added into ane. I'm always torn betwixt teriyaki hasty, or smoked jerky, or peppered jerky and have a hard time deciding which one to buy, just this is like all 3 added into i! Information technology'due south the rex of jerkies in my book!
01/13/2007
This is the first and last jerkey recipe that I will use! We did brand a small-scale adjustment to the recipe though. Pineapple juice concentrate is 1 of the main ingredients in terriyaki sauce, then we didn't feel like nosotros needed to add together the extra juice that it called for. Otherwise we followed the recipe equally stated and it came out unbelievable! We were going to follow our dehydrator's insructions and dehydrate for 1-2 days(Ronco v tray), but it was done Mode before that, so we volition def follow the suggested drying time here.
01/06/2009
We used this recipe to make deer hasty. We actually ground the meat and and then added the marinade. This was a lot of marinade and we used information technology for about 3 ane/2 pounds of ground meat. We allow information technology marinate for well-nigh 4 hours and then used a jerky gun and a dehydrator. Information technology has a wonderful flavor and nosotros will definitely be making it again. Thank you!
07/xiv/2011
Loved this recipe! Followed recipe exactly. Beloved the taste and the texture of the meat. This 1 is a keeper!
07/06/2011
just every bit the championship promised...sugariness, hot & spicy...information technology is VERY GOOD...i didn't have teriyaki so i left it out and used a sirloin steak (sliced into strips) nor did i use the liquid smoke as i put it in the smoker with maple wood fries...yes indeed and yummy jerky recipe...the dh luved information technology...thanks for sharing the recipe ... will be making it again...
05/27/2008
We enhance beef cattle so I'm always looking for the "better" jerky recipe. Take tried many and this is probably the all-time. Marinated brusque cut rump and london broil steaks (about v lbs. full) in a double batch of the verbal recipe and had enough left over for another 5 pounds of meat. Retrieve I'm washed looking for jerky recipes! Thanks!
11/30/2006
(2006)I wish I could give this more than than 5 stars!! We used this as a alkali/marinade for a turkey. It ended upwardly in the mixture for 36 hours but it was fabled!!!!!! This is a definate keeper for our recipe files. (2009) This is an update for my original review. We take since used this recipe on venison & wild boar with terrific results. We have likewise used it equally a marinade for craven (whole and we beer-canned them with more marinade in the can), goose (roasted in the oven), and a fresh unsmoked ham. All were admittedly delish!!
09/19/2010
This is a wonderful recipe. Like others I just added the spices to the liquid ingredients. Freezing the meat and using a meat slicer is actually the way to go. All slices are overnice and even. I used 15 pounds of London Bake and half dozen times the marinade recipe. In that location seemed to be plenty of marinade. Thanks for sharing the reciped.
12/17/2009
Mixed all the ingrediants together. Did not cook it. We added habenaro to one-half the recipe.Very good. Will definately brand again.
01/x/2012
Perfect recipe! A lot of ingredients only well worth information technology! One tip that I do, put everything in a 1 gallon nix lock purse with all the air pushed out to marinade. Every few hours I mix the purse without ever opening it. This manner produces a more even flavoring and is much less messy! When I am done, I take the meat out and throw away the messy bag.
07/22/2009
This was a great recipe. Definitely a keeper! I made it exactly as stated, next time I'll probably cut back on the liquid smoke, I think it might take been too much.
07/20/2012
I bought myself a food dehydrator this concluding spring intending to use information technology for the near part for the extra fruits and herbs I abound but my husband asked me to try to brand some jerkey since he loves it and the shop bought stuff is so expensive. I searched for a recipe to endeavor and came beyond this i. Don't carp with heating the liquids and sugar or seasoning the meat w/dry ingredients, just mix everything except the meat in a bowl and stir well, the saccharide dissolves actually hands and you don't have to await for the marinade to cool down. I didn't use the worcestershire sauce because it has fish ingredients and instead used extra teriyaki sauce and balsalmic vinegar and we love garlic and so I used and actress 1/2 tsp. Let me tell you it was a hit! On my second batch I used a tiny bit more onion pulverization, black pepper and red pepper flakes than chosen for so we could accept a bit more than heat to residuum the sweet. I've fabricated this a dozen times now and have given information technology out every bit gifts, fabricated it to take camping and sent some with my hubby to work and everybody who'southward tried it has raved almost it. The recipe makes fashion more than liquid than needed for 1lb of meat, I've used this recipe to marinade 3lb of beefiness and it was fine. Put the marinade in a big ziplock purse, or divide between two depending on how much meat yous accept, squeeze out the air and let marinade over night for the about flavorful jerkey you lot've e'er had. I not going to carp searching for another jerkey recipe, this is a keeper!
02/19/2015
I have used allrecipes for years, but accept never felt compelled to write a review earlier now. I made this jerky yesterday with a mixture of venison and beef, and it is easily, easily-downwardly the all-time jerky I have ever had. The family agrees! I mixed the spices in with the marinade instead of doing the rub, marinated overnight, then into the dehydrator. Nosotros tripled the meat - the recipe to a higher place for the marinade can hands handle three pounds of meat. So addictive, we're starting some other batch this evening. Perfect residuum of flavours, and the odor is heavenly. Thanks for sharing this amazing recipe! If there was a Nobel Prize for jerky, it would be yours!(lol)
02/22/2012
I take to tell you BEST VENISON JERKY Ever!!! But I want to share my tweeks. For starters I used one whole dorsum strap. But also Instead of pinaple juice I used coca cola I doubled the batch because I had 2 1/2 pounds of venison. I too used a whole tbs of fresh course footing pepper and instead of red pepper flakes I used a amend hot pepper blend mine was homemade but anything hot with flavour! Soaked for 48 hrs. Smoked on a charcoal smoker with cherry wood. I also used vernors in the h2o basin. Like I said best jerky I've always had!!!!
05/19/2011
the but recipe i make!!!!
eleven/27/2010
this is the first jerky i ever tried to make and i tried this i and another recipe to meet which i i liked best. this recipe is amazing!!! everyone loved it!! the other recipe i tried i wouldn't feed to my worst enemy compared to this one!! i want to truly thank you for sharing this recipe!! you made me look like a star in the kitchen!! highly recommend this to anyone!!
09/09/2012
I was marinating a steak in balsamic dressing and didn't get to cook it in a day or ii so I decided to make jerky. I put the beef strips on a grilling rack; the pan was lined with aluminum and I sprinkled with ground black pepper. I cooked the beefiness on the racks at 150 degrees for 5-half dozen hours. I will definitely use this again when I am pushing the envelope on a steak.
12/07/2010
Good Very Good The pineapple is a great addition
04/xviii/2009
Turned out wonderful. I marinated it all overnight... Didn't have a dehydrator and so I did information technology on a sheet pan with a cooling rack above it for ventilation at 150deg for 2 hours and 200deg for another 60 minutes to hour and a one-half. Information technology was wonderful. I as well didn't use liquid smoke. Information technology is and so tender. SO Expert!
01/15/2011
Anybody loved it. I used a flank steak.
05/24/2010
This is the absolute best jerky recipe out there! I use it for elk and it is and so sugariness and spicy. Anybody I share with tin't cease eating it.
09/24/2009
This was my first attempt at making hasty, and wow, this was great! Might have a bit more kick than my dd will like so next time I'll get out ruby chili flakes off half the batch. As well, you lot can easily double the beef and not adjust the amount of marinade. I had waaaaaaay too much when I doubled everything. Thanks!
05/26/2009
This is the offset hasty recipe I tried with my new dehydrator, and it was astonishing! Love the little bit of sweet, balanced with the little bit of rut. And the marinade was then peachy, I think I'll try this with some other meats to BBQ. Thank you for the neat recipe! I'll be making this all the time!
11/12/2007
The best beef jerky I have always had! So like shooting fish in a barrel and tasty! I read some of the other reviews and just added 4 tablespoons of the liquid smoke and it was amazing!
02/04/2008
This was ok, but didn't have too much flavor for my liking. Lots of ingredients, but nada really stood out.
01/28/2010
Very skilful, but adjacent fourth dimension I may use a little more heat. Or sprinkle with cracked pepper before drying.
09/04/2007
This recipe is crawly......I've tried a ton of others and this i was the bomb.....Anybody who tried it said it was the best they had e'er eaten.....I used Elk and apple juice instead of pineapple........Thanks !!!
05/29/2010
Squeamish one! I followed exactly - but cut back on the liquid fume a bit and used about a tablespoon of Sriracha Thai republic of chile and garlic sauce in place of the red pepper flakes - you tin can't take hasty without the all important spicy element. It went perfectly with the teriyaki/pineapple flavour. Information technology beats Alton'due south recipe!
x/05/2011
Made equally directed. It's pretty good.
12/06/2010
The accented best! Making it for the 3rd time within a month and each time I've made a quadruple batch. Family, Friends and Co-worker alike rave and ask for the recipe. Thank you for sharing!!!
10/30/2011
Absolutely fantastic! My family unit LOVED this recipe. I made it for the almanac guy'due south deer hunting trip. Information technology was all gone earlier they got to the camp site!
10/21/2011
I've made this a few times, both with beef and with venison, Yum Yum Yum.
12/05/2011
Yummy! And so practiced! We did information technology with round steak. Will try it with all sorts of dissimilar cuts of meat.
03/17/2007
This is a swell recipe. I made five pounds of beef jerky last weekend and its all gone. Everybody I gave a sample to, just loved it. I'yard making myself some other batch today for myself. The just matter I did differant was unstead of useing liquid smoke, I smoked it with alder in my smoker. I recommend this recipe for anyone. Adept Job. Jon
03/12/2007
Excellent flavour, I used with a lean beef and sprinkled with crushed black pepper before drying. Very tasty fifty-fifty though I chickened out on the amount of liquid smoke and simply added about a tertiary of what was called for. Have already had to make 2 batches to go on upward with demand.
08/15/2010
wonderful flavors...:) thanks
12/22/2006
I tried recipe twice, kickoff time I used beef, it was very good and tasty I added a few shakes of jalapeno hot sauce along with red pepper flakes. Very good. 2d. time it was tried the recipe got altered a piddling and used ground beefiness, and shot it into dehydrator, with Jerky shoot gun and made round sticks instead of flat pcs. Added more dry spices and fiddling less on wet ingredients. I didn't have to dehydrate only about 1/two the fourth dimension it besides was really good. Thanks again .P. Martin.
01/03/2012
I absolutely love this recipe. This was our first time making beef jerky and it came out delicious! The merely thing we didn't add together was the red pepper flakes. Thank you!
02/22/2008
This recipe is fantastic! I substituted regular vinegar for the balsamic to make it cheaper, and I added 1/4 cup of Bourbon I had sitting around. Additionally, I added half a teaspoon of salt to the dry spices.
09/xx/2007
Not bad jerky recipe! Information technology was gone in about a calendar week (and I fabricated a triple batch). The only change I fabricated was to subtract the fume flavoring past most one-1/2 tablespoons. I had the butcher slice the meat for me and I made it in the dehydrator. Thanks for the recipe!
01/02/2009
I didn't take pineapple juice, so I added 1/third loving cup molasses instead. Also added some extra pepper flakes for a little more estrus. one lb of meat took four hrs. in the dehydrator at 155°f. Came out excellent
08/29/2009
I got a food dehydrator for Christmas final yr and haven't done much with it. The other twenty-four hours, we decided to effort to make beef jerky and found this recipe. I don't think I need to expect anywhere else - this recipe is swell! Tastes similar "professional" jerky you might buy at the store or smokehouse.
02/13/2011
amazing!
02/06/2009
i take to hibernate this from my boyfriend or the kids won't become whatsoever when they come visit! i use a dehydrator overnight and information technology's perfect! i as well add some of JIM GOODE'S BBQ RUB to information technology as information technology makes my ribs sooo tender! don't skimp on the pineapple juice, the enzymes help to suspension down the meat. SOOO GOOD!
06/17/2012
This recipe is great! Like others, I cut dorsum almost 50% on the liquid fume. I also added a little bit of maple syrup and dear. Very impressed with this recipe. Ane of the best beef hasty's I've had!
05/04/2011
I loved this recipe!! Instead of heating it to melt the chocolate-brown sugar I simply stirred it in a bowl until dissolved and put everything into a purse with the meat. It was FABULOUS! A big hit, I even made a "vegetarian" version with some faux "steak" strips considering my mother is a vegetarian.
07/19/2007
All I can say is WOW!!!
02/02/2016
I am a beef hasty aficionado. I institute this recipe to be an EXCELLENT base recipe and for that reason I am rating information technology five stars. Don't misunderstand, Information technology's absolutely fantastic and yummy in it's own rite just as it is. I too marinade at To the lowest degree 24 hours. You can make this recipe and you will be very happy with the flavors. I, however, like my jerky SPICY. I add several boosted ingredients to brand information technology my own with the right corporeality of spice that I love and so much. I'm talking Carolina Reapers or Ghost Peppers. One ingredient I add seems to give it some richness/depth/torso, almost 5 heaping spoonfuls of Chili Garlic Sauce (Notation: I do 5 pounds of meat at a time.) I put the dried chili flakes into a coffee bean grinder and pulverize them into a powder. It really distributes the spice throughout. (And you don't find little flakes all around your house.) An immersion blender mixes in the garlic and onion powders well which tend to clump in the liquid. I'm lucky plenty to have a store nearby that will slice my meat super thin for me which is nigh of the work (I use bottom circular sliced cantankerous-grain) and a 5-drawer dehydrator. It can dry ii-ane/2 lbs. at a fourth dimension. LOVE LOVE LOVE this recipe. Whether you lot change or use as is, you will love this recipe. I'm making twenty lbs. at a time at present. It'due south basically a 3-day commitment.

There aren't enough adjectives for how great this recipe is! No demand to bookmark any other jerky recipe, this is information technology! Added Hot cayenne pepper and skipped the liquid smoke. Couldn't await for information technology to marinade, and then took the smaller pieces, seasoned them in the dry rub, speedily basted them in the marinade and chucked them straight in the oven. Marinaded the bigger pieces for the next 24-hour interval and even made a third batch after that. The neighbors were lining upward to eat information technology.... Make sure yous make A LOT if you want some for yourself!

This is a great recipe! It has a wonderful sweet flavor, just does non take an odd after taste that teriyaki jerky often does. I kicked up the red pepper flakes the second time around as I like alittle more heat. This recipe works well with both venison and beefiness. Marinating longer is better!!

Made exactly according to directions. Anybody loved it! I did make a pocket-sized portion without the red pepper flakes for those who don't like spicy.

Followed the recipe exactly. After marinating for four hours I took out 1/2 the meat to dehydrate. Once that batch was done drying I made the rest and had people taste exam them to see if marinating them longer (18h) made a difference. It did not. It was all fantastic! Thanks for sharing! I have my adjacent batch in the refrigerator marinating now :)

Great flavor. I used Wright'south concentrated liquid smoke and only needed one capful instead of 5TBSP! I also added a dash of Siracha sauce and substituted canned diced pineapple (all I had) and some minced onion for the onion powder.

Very, very proficient. I cut the liquid smoke in half but to each their own. The time varies depending on thickness and how many racks yous use at a time. I also institute my self slicing the meat too thin. I am trying tri-tip on the next batch. Will make again oftentimes.

this is fantastic!! I was surprised at the reviewer who didn't think it smelled good while dehydrating because my unabridged family kept begging to know when information technology would exist washed! The seasoning on this is only right - no to sweet, not to spicy - the perfect combination of both for a jerky.

I added more red pepper flakes to make spicier. Information technology was admittedly delectable. I too made some without the cherry-red pepper flakes for my husband because he doesn't like spicy. Information technology's the best jerky that we have tried I highly recommend information technology. Oh I likewise added an actress one-half cup of pineapple juice.

I contradistinct information technology a flake the last time I made, added a picayune more than terriyaki sauce/glaze, more pepper flakes, and used orange/pineapple juice, come up out awesome!!
